The information management team of the Addis
Ababa City Administration Education Bureau gave an orientation on new software
designed to collect annual Education data.
The orientation was given to selected district information and ICT experts, and the
orientation was given by Mr. Alemneh Selaku, who is an information management
expert in the office, based on XAMPP software from the Ministry of Education.
The software was prepared by the Ministry of
Education to be sent to the concerned parties by filling in the education
information of the year 2015. The head of the information management team of
the Addis Ababa City Administration Education Bureau, Mr. Deseta Abreham, said
that the information experts who participated in the orientation understood
properly how to install the software and how to use it. They explained that
they are required to organize information.

Information Directorate of Addis Ababa City Administration Education Bureau, Mr.
Dereje Dagne, on his part, pointed out that the orientation is designed to
create quality educational information supported by technology, and he
announced that the work of entering the information collected into the database
based on the previously sent data filling form will start from Monday.

Addis Ababa City Administration Education
Bureau's Department of Multidisciplinary and Early Childhood Affairs
Directorate gave life skills training to the general staff of the Bureau.
In her message at the opening of the training,
the Director of the Directorate of Multicultural and Early Childhood Affairs of
Education Bureau, Ms. BLaynesh Yeshaw, said that one of the activities carried
out by the Directorate of Multicultural and Early Childhood Affairs is the
prevention of HIV and AIDS, life skills training that helps people to
understand themselves and the community properly and lead a healthy life.
Addis Ababa City Administration Education Bureau,
HIV AIDS Prevention and Control Specialist, Ms. Genezeb Desalen, said that life
skills training enables people to develop healthy and virtuous behaviors and
protect themselves and their environment from HIV AIDS and other related
problems. She announced that they should protect themselves from various
offensive actions by doing so.
The training was given by Mr. Hailemariam, a
life skills trainer known for providing life skills training and consulting in
the field for many years.

The Addis Ababa City Administration Education Bureau held a discussion on current national issues
in which the entire staff of the Bureau was present.
In the discussion, a discussion document titled
"Strengthening Our Victories and Overcoming Challenges" was presented
by Mr. Sisay, Head of the Bureau of Education, and discussed by the
participants.
The Head of Addis Ababa City Administration
Education Bureau, Dr. Zelalem Mulatu, in his message during the discussion,
emphasized that the discussion is a discussion at every level so that our
country Ethiopia can move to a better phase of peace and development by
strengthening and continuing the victories it has achieved following the change
and based on the challenges faced in the same process.
Dr. Zelalem added that both leaders and experts
of the Addis Ababa Education Bureau are expected to be effective in their field

the entire staff.
In the discussion, the implementation of the Bureau's
nine-month plan for the 2015 academic year was presented by Mr. Getahun Lema,
Director of the Planning Budget Monitoring and Evaluation Directorate.

Bureau Deputy Bureau Head, Dannew Gebru, in his message in the discussion,
pointed out that the contribution of experts to the results achieved by the
Bureau in the education development work in the fiscal year is significant and
emphasized that it is necessary to work to achieve better results in the
conclusion of the fiscal year based on the tasks that were not performed in the
remaining months.

Administration Education Bureau reviewed the performance of the bureau's
nine-month plan.
The Addis Ababa City Administration Education
Bureau has evaluated the performance of the 2015 school year's nine-month plan
at the General Council level in the presence of office managers, all
directorates and team leaders.

Addis Ababa City Administration Education
Office, Directorate of Exam Preparation and Administration, provided training
to the education experts who will register the 2015 12th grade exam students.
Dinaol Chala, director of the Directorate of
Exam Preparation and Administration of the Addis Ababa City Administration
Education Office, said that the registration will be conducted online and the
registrars should register and report the students who have tested according to
the orientation given in the training.
Ato Dinaol added that the registration will be
held for five days starting from Monday, March 25, and explained that the
candidates should trust the registrars and fill in the required information
properly.
At the Addis Ababa Education Bureau, Mr. Mikael
Mesfen Tefathani, an ICT expert, gave an orientation regarding the form
prepared for online registration of students.

The information management team leader of the office, Ato ASbaha
Abraham, gave the orientation to the district and district information experts

Preparation and Administration explained that this year's model exam will be

Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed (Dr.) is today responding to the
questions raised by the council based on the government's six-month report.
Questions rose by the House of Representatives to the
Honorable Prime Minister Dr. Abiy Ahmed regarding the education sector:-
• Although the work done by the government in the past
years to ensure the quality of education has been encouraging, various
obstacles are still observed; among them, the publication of secondary school
textbooks is a federal contribution, but it has not yet arrived.
• Infrastructural provision of electricity and internet, as
well as the lack of capacity building of teachers has become a problem for the
quality of education.
• It is mentioned that Woldia University is damaged due to
the war and is not suitable for educational work; therefore, the question of
what the government intends to solve the problem in the education sector was
asked.
Honorable Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed, in his response, we
will expand the university as per the roadmap in the last 4 years. He has been
doing extensive work for three or four years saying that we will expand the
quality and not automate the examination. Attempts are being made to expand KG,
primary, secondary level, and expand school meals as much as possible.
Since it still requires a lot of work to bring the quality
of education, we still have a lot of work to do with better teachers in books and the Internet. They responded that
the beginnings are known and we will continue to strengthen them.
